Angelina Z. Wang

Boston University COM '21 (Public Relations; Visual Arts)

Born in Shanghai and raised in the Silicon Valley, Angelina is fascinated by the intersection of language, psychology, and technology in our daily lives.
At work, she continues to learn about the power of words and public perception in various industries. At Lime, she dived deep into startup culture and the surprising impact of smart mobility solutions on cities. At Formlabs, she spearheaded the user review process, and learned about the benefits of 3D printing for iterative design. At Allen & Gerritsen, she created an out-of-the-box solution to identifying influencers for a niche healthcare product, and received a crash-course on renewable energy and EaaS. Currently, she is at Amazon, learning about social media campaigns and paid advertising.
At BU, Angelina helped lead a focus group on college students' perception and usage of online dating apps, and produced a field report on user profile creation. In the future, she hopes to conduct more research on the subject of how social media and dating apps influence and guide our interactions with friends and strangers.
Outside of work, Angelina can be found at her sewing machine, curled up with her knitting needles, or reading — in 2020,  she read 110 books. In the past, she was the managing editor at Charcoal Magazine, an art publication focused on sharing artists of colors' stories.
She has strong feelings about corn, the weak ties phenomenon, and the 1970s Rat Park study.
